December 16: Greg Taylor on Marketing Content – UPDATED

OH, NO! I just heard from Greg today; he has to go out of town due to a family situation, and won’t be able to make it. Hopefully we can schedule him for another time, but meanwhile, we’ll be filling in with LIGHTNING TALKS!

Basically, this means anyone who would like to participate can come prepared with a 5-10 minute talk on a WordPress-related topic of your choosing. We’ll fit in as many as we can!

Unfortunately, we probably won’t have a projector available, so you’ll need to have a projector-free talk OR have slides available on Slideshare (or another online location) so that people can follow along via laptop.

If you want to speak, feel free to share your topic in the comments below. Or just show up!

Our December 16 speaker will be Greg Taylor of TMC Interactive in Tempe, Arizona. Greg is working with clients in the Portland area this winter, and will be sharing his expertise on developing compelling marketing content for a blog with us while he’s here.

Remember, our new meeting place is NedSpace Downtown, 920 SW 3rd Avenue. Meeting time is still the same: 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. RSVP on Upcoming.

Looking ahead, Aaron Hockley will join us in January to talk about monetizing your blog.

Hope to see you on December 16!

Any chance you have a twitter feed to keep track of upcoming speakers?

Thank you so much to Nedra Rezinas for speaking at our November meeting! She gave an informative talk on the various e-commerce plugins and systems available for use with WordPress. As promised, her slides have been posted online at SlideShare.

NEW MEETING PLACE for December and Onward

Yes, we’ve finally had to move on from Webtrends. We really appreciate Webtrends (especially the staff members who stayed for the meetings) for hosting us, but they are no longer able to do so.

So instead, we’ve moved on to Nedspace Downtown, courtesy of Karen Groves of Groves Design, who is a member of NedSpace as well as the Portland WordPress User Group. The new address is:

    920 SW 3rd Avenue
    Portland, OR  97204

It’s really only a few blocks from Webtrends, too.

Our next meeting will December 16 at 6:00 p.m.; details will be in a separate post.
