Speeding Up Your Site with WordPress 6.9

Speeding Up Your WordPress Site with WordPress 6.9

Date/Time: Tuesday, January 13th from 6:30 am – 8:30 pm

In-Person MeetUp at the NW Portland Hostel, 479 NW 18th Ave, Portland, 97209.

The most recent release of WordPress includes many performance improvements to give visitors a better experience. We’ll look at how the changes result in a faster page load. We’ll also look at how to evaluate themes and plugins for their performance impact. Lastly, we’ll do some live performance audits for attendees’ sites to see how they might be made faster.

Speaker
Weston Ruter, a WordPress core committer for over a decade and currently employed at WP Engine, will lead the presentation. Check out his blog at Building a Better Web. There will be time for questions and help with issues on your own websites. Portland WordPress MeetUp coordinators, Angie Drake, Not Your Average American, and Mary Ann Aschenbrenner, Waterlink Web, will be available to help facilitate the meeting.

New Location
In addition to meeting space, the NW Portland Hostel, at 479 NW 18th, offers a cafe. Stop by for a bite or beverage and bring it into the meeting area. We will start with networking and then move to introductions.
