[Online] User: Images – Optimizing, Managing, What’s New, Plus Resources

Monday, May 4, 2020
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Recent WordPress versions have updated how images are handled in the Media Library and displayed on your website. We’ll be looking at these changes and how they affect your current and future sites. This talk will cover image optimization, photo editing tools (apps and online), where to get images, online resources, Next-Gen image formats, Adaptive Images, and various image plugins.

Doug Rider builds WordPress websites and provides hosting, maintenance, and support.

Note: This will not be at our usual location, it will be an online event using Zoom. If you don’t already have an account, you can sign up for free at https://zoom.us. You can download the desktop software, use a browser extension, or download the mobile app. If you haven’t used Zoom before, you may want to get set up and familiarize yourself with the interface in advance.

You can join the meetup at the scheduled time (6pm Pacific) by going to this link: https://zoom.us/j/94733704637?pwd=eEhWUVpkdlUreG4zSWh0MVJDU25HUT09

You should not need the Meeting ID and password, but here they are just in case:
Meeting ID: 947 3370 4637
Password: 823653

To prevent interruptions, everyone else will be muted and prevented from screen sharing during the meetup. Your video *should* be off by default when you join the call, so if you don’t want to be seen, don’t click the button to enable your video.

You can ask questions by typing in the chat, which you should be able to access at the bottom of your Zoom window. We’ll take breaks to answer questions during the presentation, but if you can, please try to save your questions for the end.

We’ll be recording the presentation, and we’ll link to the video in the comments after it’s been processed.

Due to the expected number of attendees, we will not have the usual hands-on help and networking portion of the meetup. However, we encourage people to converse in our Slack group for general WordPress discussion at any time. You can join here.

Please RSVP on Meetup so we know how many people to expect. We hope to see you there!
