Twenty Twenty-Three is designed to take advantage of the new design tools introduced in WordPress 6.1. With a clean, blank base as a starting point, it may seem intimidating. Once you understand how Twenty Twenty-Three works, however, you will love how easily you can change the header to match a specific page, use global styling to manage design elements across the entire website and change fonts and background colors to design the perfect website quickly. Additional resources and opportunities to learn WordPress will also be covered, as well as the functionality of some new blocks, such as the Row Block.

Mary Ann Aschenbrenner will lead this MeetUp in person and on Zoom. Graybox generously offers us a meeting space that will accommodate up to 50 in-person attendees with a setup showing the presenter’s laptop screen on a large television. Because the demonstration is being conducted on her laptop, Mary Ann will also share her screen with attendees on Zoom.

After the MeetUp, in-person attendees are welcome to join us at Wayfinder Beer, just a block from Graybox, to celebrate the first in-person Portland WordPress MeetUp in three years!

In-Person Location Details
Graybox is on the 7th floor of the historic Olympic Mills building, located in inner SE Portland between Stark and Washington and 1st and 2nd. The entrance is on SE Stark Ave. Our event begins at 6 pm. There is a door code that will be sent out in a follow-up email. Please check for that. Because the Olympic Mills building is close to a railroad line that can have some long trains (and waits), if you are coming from the west side or I-5, it is best to approach from the Morrison or Burnside bridges, not the OMSI exit. This is an industrial location, and parking can be scarce, but after 5:30 pm, it should open up. Wayfinder Brewing is at 304 SE 2nd Ave. We plan to walk there at about 7:30 pm or so.

Note: We will also be presenting this Meetup Online via Zoom. Ensure you’ve downloaded and set up your Zoom account before the presentation – https://zoom.us. For added security, the Zoom link will not be public. You must RSVP to see it.

We will be muting everyone’s microphone during the presentation. If you have a question, please enter it into the Zoom Chat by starting your question with a “Q: “ (without the quotes). It will make it easier to moderate the Chat throughout the presentation.

You can use the Chat panel to introduce yourself and converse with others, but if you have a question for the presenter, remember to add your question to the Chat.

We will be recording the presentation. There may be times when your video will be presented on screen. If you don’t want to show your video, please disable it in the Zoom settings. Once the video has been processed, we’ll add the link to the video in the Meetup comments section.
